I needed an outdoor gate that would be safe for grandkids, sturdy enough to withstand an enegetic boxer, fit tight enough to contain a few elusive pugs, was easy to install at the top of an angled stair case that was not a normal width, could be operated with one-hand and I wanted it reasonably priced. Picky right?

The breeder/owner of the pugs recommended ohmydogsupplies. This gate with the adjustable extension met every criteria. It literally did it all. I'll be buying another one for the other side of the dock soon.

The 9 sec video made the total difference in being able to install the gate! The installation instructions were somewhat unclear; but the minute I watched the video, I understand exactly how to install the gate. Sharp appearance matches the hardware on my deck. I'm looking forward to the gate (and extension) lasting as long as the deck!

Sturdy, attractive and lightweight. Easy to install. Closer is cheap and could be better. I ended up rejigging it to make it work easier, but you will enjoy this product. I've tried lots of deck gates and built my own, but this is the best.

After pricing iron gates between the $300 - $500 range, I found this gate at a substantially cheaper price. I need the gate for my deck steps for the swimming pool and hope it keeps out kids as well as my dogs! This is a very nice looking gate!

I looked at this gate for a while before I bought it because I already own every gate immaginable. I have four dogs and have to keep one large dog away from the other three, so I am constantly moving gates around as I move dogs in and out. I did not have a stationary gate and decided on this one. I ordered two, one for my deck and one for my stoop coming out of the garage. My husband had them installed very quickly. They look great and work great. The catch to open the gate is fairly easy to open once you get used to it. I did read the reviews and realized that I didn't need to order an extension, the gate already comes fitting the space up to 42 1/2 inches. I really love the gates.

The gate installed within 30 minutes. It's designed to be outside. So the stainless hardware is perfect. With the first one finished on the upper deck. I just finished ordering another one for the lower deck. Might just add to the gate advertisement, that the gate fits openings from 27" to 42" before any extensions are needed. I almost didn't buy it, because of the wording. I got the answer, I needed in reading the reviews.

My husband and I installed this gate at the entrance to our top deck so our 86 lb. Golden could be outside but not get into trouble. It was pretty easy to set-up (about 35 minutes start to finish) and the locking mechanism works very well. Most of the time I can use one hand to unlatch the lock and lift the gate. It also looks great with our natural wood deck which was a definite plus! I'd recommend this gate to anyone who's looking for a permanent fixture that's durable and easy to use.

This gate is installed at the top of both stairs on my deck to keep a pug and a toddler safe. We liked them so much that we recently bought two more and had them installed at the top and bottom of the spiral staircase inside our home. They look like they came with the stairs.

Before we got this gate we were using a plastic baby gate on our deck to keep our two Standard Poodles from wandering off. We had to climb over it or totally take it off to get through. Now we have an attractive and weather proof gate that is easy to open (both ways) but secure for pets and grand kids.

This gate does it's job but is difficult to open the latch and does not close easily either. Other than that, it is perfect for keeping our dogs on the deck when needed. Just wish the walk through was easier to operate. Also, you can't just push it closed; it needs to be lifted and secured in place.

We installed this on our front porch so that we could enjoy evenings on the porch with our three dogs ranging in weight from 8 pounds to 42 pounds. Keeps everyone in securely and our neighbor's doberman out. It is attractive and seems to be far more durable than our last gate. The only complaint is that the latch is not the easiest to use. It does do the job we need and we are very pleased.

Outdoor dog gate is sturdy and solid, it is the perfect item for a smaller dog-our Yorkie is now free to run on the deck....

I did remove the latch, it was a bit complex. We just lift the gate so the pegs go into the holes--this is much simplier, we really didn't need to secure the gate .....

I love this gate. Purchased one in black for the fence gate and liked it so much I bought another in white for the porch. Lightweight. Need both hands to open it though. I have 4 Chihuahuas and it works great for them. I don't think a small child could open this gate easily.

I have 4 small dogs and put up a galvanized heavy wire fence. This is the perfect gate to give me easy access to my car, bringing groceries home, getting garbage to curbside and for friends and family to get through. Gate opens easily and closes easily. No problems.

The gate looks great--it was exactly what I wanted. It is a little hard to open with one-hand because of the clasping mechanism.

I bought this gate to use on my deck so my dog can lie in the sun outside while I do things inside. (We don't have a fenced yard, but we do have stairs that go down from the deck to the ground.) It was somewhat difficult to assemble, and I think it's going to take some time to get really good at opening the gate--it's not just a simple latch. It's meant for use with children, and the instructions say it "baffles toddlers." I can see why--it's not easy to open at all. Anyway, from what I can tell so far, it's going to be great for my purposes.

Main reason is for children ages 1 to 5 to not fall down stairs and to control where they can go in the house... and also great for keeping our two 25 pound dogs in the part of the house we want them to roam ...the extender works well to reach a 53 inch opening which we have....cost seemed alot at [$] each plus $30 for extender, but it is well worth it given times every day we are moving through the gates ....Cardinal Gate company is manufacturer

We love this product!! I originally purchased this gate to keep my baby safe on our deck, but love that it keeps our 2 dogs on the lower deck and not barking at our kitchen door! It is a bit difficult to open, but is very safe and secure. Would purchase this gate again and again.
