It is a beautiful product and much nicer than many dogfool holders out there. I didn't have a whole lot of problem with the smell of the stain. The only thing I would do different is to stain it myself to make a closer match to my furniture.

This product is great. Their customer service however is horrible. I paid in full for this container when I ordered it. Their website says will ship in 2-5 business days from date of purchase. Try one month. When I called the company for a explanation they would not return my calls. I am convinced they only shipped this product after I called my credit card company to dispute their charges. I would not order from this company again.

I purchased the large size dog food container. I simply open a big 25-lb. bag of food and slide it into this container for easy feeding and attractive storage. The size is perfect. I've been struggling with big bags of dog food for 20 years, from having them tip over spilling kibble all over the utility closet floor to even finding mice inside. Love just putting the bag of dog food down into the container which hides the (sometimes ratty looking bag) Decreases spills and doggy access to bag. Cute personalization can be added. The only space I had to place the container is in my
laundry room.With rugged finish it does catch
lint and dust very easily, Also have to be careful not to let puppy scratch at the container due to fear of possibility of splinters getting into paws

I've had these for a long time. A taller one for my great dane and now the smaller version for my Golden Retriever. I set their dishes on top and it saves space in my small place. I started just pouring the food in, but now keep it in the bags for freshness/cleanliness. My original one (from 7 years ago) somehow got bugs..another reason to keep in bags. Great idea! Thank you!

The product is great. This is my second one. Only suggestion - let it air out when it is finished before crating it. We had to do that when we received it because it reeked of the stain used to finish the wood. We were unable to use it for several days until that odor was gone. We were afraid it would permeate the dog food, even in the sack and would render the food unuseable.

We have 2 half barrels and very pleased with them. The barrels work better if you cut off a dry food bag and insert the empty bag in the barrel, and then fill the bag. This eliminates cleaning the barrel.
