Looks and works great but.... after a few months I have to sand top and reseal with polyurthene. The top has turned black because the water my dogs drip has gotten under the finish.
This is an adorable feeder that matches my kitchen perfectly. It did slide around but I put it on a black plastic placemat and it is perfect. It is a litttle bit hard to clean because food gets stuck in the cut out, but worth the work. The best I have found in terms of both attractiveness and practicality. It would be great if you offered an accompanying mat.
We have a Belgian Malinois. He mostly eats and drinks outside from regular stainless steel bowls. But on rainy days, he uses the wooden bone feeder. Our kitchen has wood floors and cabinets, and this feeder fits in beautifully. It looks nice enough so that even on sunny days we simply leave it on display in our kitchen. It does not slide around and the bowls are deep enough so that food and water stay in the bowl and don't end up on the floor. It's held up extremely well, except for one thing. The metal the bowls are made from is not very thick, and so you have to take care not to dent them while cleaning them.
We haven't seen anything better anywhere else. Worth the cost in our case since the house is very open and there's no place to tuck Posie's bowls away and out of sight.
