We bought this bed hoping Duke would adapt to it well. We had a chaise lounge for him but it took up too much space. When I first got it I thought wow lot of money for a dog bed..Boy was I wrong..He seems to be very comfortable on it and it is plenty big enough for my 115lb. boy. He laid on it the second we put it on the floor..I recommend this bed for any dog. My picky dog loves it and so do we......

My 11 year old lab mix has degenerative arthritis, so not only does she have stiff joints, she couldn't jump up on my king bed if she tried. She does like sleeping on it, but she is also very finicky about cleanliness, and it attracts hair. While the cover does come off and is machine washable, it is not very easy to get back on, and I am afraid to wash too many times. This product would be even better if they sold fitted sheets to go along with it!

As far as the orthopedic value is concerned, I guess I was expecting memory foam or some advanced materials to relieve joint stress, but the inside is actually similar to the material of those egg crate foam pads often used to beef up old mattresses. That being said, it is definitely better than the floor.

Another pro: our other dog, a spunky chew-on random items- and rip the stuffing out of everything puppy apparently thinks it is a piece of furniture, therefore off limits.

Overall, I think it is the best product on the market for what it is. In my opinion the price is a bit high given the materials, but the size and aesthetics of it are unmatched.

I was looking for a dog bed and after reading one reviewers comments about her husband using it with her great danes, I knew it would be right. It is exactly as she described! The dog and the hubby both use it constantly. (yes I'm guilty too)It is super comfy,easy too clean,liquids bead up on the fabric so it doesn't soak in, easy to clean, but it is an actual piece of furniture so it can't be hidden in a closet.

We purchased this bed, microvelvet/fleece fabric with personalization, for our Rhodesian Ridgeback's 1st birthday. His name is Koa. Weighing well over 100lbs, Koa absolutely loves it! We'll never forget the moment when he, without any hesitation, bypassed his old bed to only climb onto his new orthopedic one. He stayed on the bed for almost the entire day. We were so amazed by how much he loved it that we took a picture of him on it and posted it on Facebook to show our friends and family. They all loved it! Needless to say, some of our friends and family wished they were Koa to have such an amazing and very comfortable looking bed!We only have 2 complaints about this bed, but these issues do NOT affect its performance.1. Although the foam itself is very thick, I would suggest that the cover is reinforced, specifically the area where the pet lays. I can see how over time and through several washes, this part of the cover will thin.2. We paid the extra cost of personalizing the bed ($15). We were a little disappointed that the name only appeared on one side. For aesthetic purposes, the personalization should be on both sides of the bed.With regards to the performance of this orthopedic bed for pets, is it top notch! For us, it would be absolutely 100% perfect given the issues above are considered in the production of the bed.Nonetheless, we, especially Koa, are very happy with this product! Thank you!

My 6 year old chocolate lab has always gotten up on our family room leather sofa and the leather has been ruined (the oil in his skin lifted the color). I've gotten other beds for him to try and keep him off the sofas, but he never liked any of them. I want to get a new sofa, so I decided I'd better find a bed he'd like first and re-train him to sleep there. This bed did the trick - he loves it and no longer wants to get up on my sofa. I also pet sit my sister's dog (a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix) and he has been re-trained as well. Since my lab is on the small side for labs, the two of them can both sleep comfortably on the bed and I can get new furniture now!!

My 90+ pound, 13 month old American Bulldog loves this bed. Of course he'd rather be in my bed, but when we tell him "no" to our bed, his second best choice is this bed. He's been sleeping on it for months now, it's shape & thickness has not changed. Most orthopedic beds go flat, this one doesn't! And I don't think it ever will, no matter how long we have it. Worth the price if you are willing to spoil your fur-kid! The only negative thing I feel is that it attracts a lot of hair. I keep a blanket over it for easier cleaning. Simple solution!

We have an Olde English Bulldogge that has been suffering from pain in his back legs..from arthritis. He was sleeping on the ceramic tile floor on a pillow and every morning he would just limp. As a great dane owner for decades, this is the best bed!! My old girl is a 12 year old harle with arthritis. It took awhile for her to get used to stepping up onto the the deeper bed, but she loves it. She is sleeping on it as I write. It must feel good on her old arthritic bones. She still walks 5 miles a week & after her walks, she hits her bed to relax. I have had dozens of beds over the years between my girl & my blue male, who died at 10 - 12 yrs ago, but this bed is, by far, the easiest to clean & to put the cover back on. My only regret? That I didn't buy one years ago. My 130lb dane can't crush it. Love it! Try it, you'll be pleased for sure!

We got this pet bed for our 220 lb English Mastiff. At first he was apprehensive about it not knowing exactly which end of the bed his head should go, but once he figured it out, he can be observed snoring loudly and very content. My Labrador could no longer get onto our bed to sleep and has had many dog beds. I opted for this orthopedic bed as she is 13 and she really seems to like it. She can jump on our bed from it because it is so tall and strong! However, she usually just sleeps on it. She is a sprawler, so the headrest isn't useful, but it doesn't seem to get in her way. I purchased this bed for my 10 year old Great Dane. She is getting a little arthritic and needed something better than a traditional cedar dog bed (which she would usually destroy in no time). This bed is great for very large dogs. My dog is about 150 lbs and growing. Her previous bed was adequate when she was a smaller puppy, but once she exceeded 110 - 120 lbs it compressed and could not support her properly. This is the by far the best bed that I have found for my Boxer. He's been sleeping on it for two years now, and at nine years old, he just loves it. I hadn't foud a bed until this one, that he didn't rip up instantly, and use as a toy! He spends every night on this bed, the foam and fabric are showing minimal wear- no sagging, and the slightest matting of the fleece. He sleeps with a few blankets in the bed, so he has a nice little doggie nest! I highly recommend this bed!!

I have big dogs. One hound I had was heavy like a bowling ball and just crushed every dogbed down...good expensive beds. I also have a 160 pound Great Pyrenees, who is 8 years old. He loves this bed. We had to slice the pillow off since I ordered an extra large, so he had room. He did not use the pillow.
This bed does not break down. It was worth every penny!!!!

This bed is very comfortable for my 170 Great Dane. He is on his second one and he absolutely loves it. He snores every night on it.
The only downside is that if your dog, "digs his den out" digging with paws, the top fabic can tear and then it is about 2-3 months before you have to replace the bed since my dog likes to remove stuffing, etc.
I will continue to buy this bed however, because it is a nice looking bed that I dont mind having in my living room and my dog loves it. It is all about making the dog happy!!

We have a 170 lb great dane who would go through several dog beds a year. We would spend about half the amount on those beds and she would quickly destroy them. We took a gamble and splurged on this bed. It is well worth the cost and we are planning on getting her a second one for the bedroom. We have had this bed for over a year now and it still looks new. Borzoi's are tall, thin, long bodied dogs and lay around alot! Kasha's bed takes up a corner of my living room. I spent [$] on a Extra large dog bed/two layers of cone-style foam at [...] Within 2 months it flattened in the middle. Frustrating. I've had this bed for about 6 weeks- it shows no signs of collapsing- still as firm as the day it arrived. It took Kash awhile to get used to the rolled end, but she puts her head on it now! We have a 100 pound American Bulldog - this is the 1st bed we have bought that does not sink down the ground when he lays on it. I waited close to 6 months to write this review to ensure I felt the same after several months of use - and I do! There is not a dent in this thing - and even better my dog loves it. He gets up with ease now, where he used to seem stiff when he got up after a nights sleep.
To be honest, I want to sleep on this, it is so thick and soft and totally comfortable... It is huge, but easy enough to move from our bedroom upstairs to the living room downstairs. I would recommend this bed to anyone and everyone with a big dog.

I bought this for my dog who is suffering from arthritis. He generally sleeps on the floor in my bedroom, which is carpeted, but I wanted to give him something more comfortable that wouldn't require him to jump. I put the doggie bed at the foot of my bed. This is a great bed! My 3 1/2 yr old Great Dane, Kaiser, had gotten used to sleeping in my bed with me and my husband. I hated that Kaiser would get his hair all over my clean sheets. We used to try to keep him on his own bed, but nevertheless, we would wake up and Kaiser would be in between us in our bed!!

Ever since he started sleeping on his new bed, he has not snuck his way into ours! My sheets stay clean for more than 1 day and I can actually have enough space to sleep comfortably in my own bed again!

I use the vaccum cleaner on it to get rid of his hair and that seems to work fine. I haven't tried to remove the cover and wash it yet.

The only thing I wish is that there was another size in between the XL and Giant. We ordered the XL because that's what fit best in our room. It's big enough for Kaiser to get comortable but I probably would have ordered a XXL if it were available.

Great product! Would definitely recommend to a friend!

My arthritic Boxer LOVES this bed, and it's big enough to share with his little sister. That eliminates the need for two dog beds. You can't beat this bed! We have an elderly Weimaraner mix who stopped sleeping through the night about three years ago. Though he's in generally good health, he has some "old dog" aches and pains and he was getting up to stretch and wander around every night, which, needless to say, was causing us to lose sleep too. We'd tried several kinds of beds and nothing kept him comfortable, until this one. The new bed arrived this week. On the first night, he got into his bed at 8:30 and stayed there until 4 a.m., which was nothing short of a miracle. Second night, he slept soundly until 4:30. Last night, he made it until 5:20 a.m.! This may not sound great to some, but for us, it was fantastic. Our beautiful baby is resting soundly and sleeping in comfort. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

p.s. Have just ordered another one for our other dog, a ten-year old pug, as he's been climbing into bed with his buddy every night. That's working out fine for the moment, but we want him to have his very own super-comfortable bed, just in case.

I wanted a bed for my Cane Corso that wasn't going to flatten and wear out over time. This one is it! Thick, solid construction, heavy cover, and awesome looking. Daphne is 8 years old with hip and knee problems. It took her a minute to learn that she had to step up on to it, but once she got there she was hooked. The price is very reasonable for this item.

We bought two of these beds in the extra large size for our boys (a Weim Rhodesian Mix and a Catahoula). They are young (both under two). Our last dogs had slept in our bed - and we were committed to not doing that this time around. But because they are our kids - we wanted to make sure they were sleeping in as good of accommodations as if they were sleeping in bed with us. I searched everywhere, did a lot of research, and this is where I ended up. I selected this style because of the thickness, because it was firm, and I felt that, while my boys are young, that kind of support would be important to their long term joint health. We skipped the faux sheepskin, as I had read it could make the beds very warm. I figured that we could put down a sheepskin cover in the winter if necessary. The boys have been sleeping on these for about 2 months now - and they love them. They no longer try to nose their way into our bed in the middle of the night. The beds are so firm with just the right amount of give. The firmness also keeps them well off the ground, which I love. We haven't tried to clean them yet. I do believe they are durable and will be long lasting. I would strongly recommend this bed to anyone looking for a high quality bed for their kid - young or old.

Even though my labrador is only a year old, he already weighs 90 pounds so we need a strong sturdy bed for him because the cheap, thin ones didn't last long before they would wear out. We bought this bed to go in his crate, it fits very snug. I don't know how easy it is to clean, since it wasn't easy getting it into his kennel because of the thickness, I don't want to hastle with taking the cover off to wash. But I vaccuum it regularly and use a deodorizer on it. My dog loves it, esp the pillow because he likes to rest his chin on it when he is sleeping. I am glad we got this bed because we've had it a few months now and still is as comfy as day we got it, the $40 crate beds we were buying would be lumpy within a couple weeks and our dog would scoot them around his kennel trying to get comfy.

Our 12 year old foster dog is not used to any creature comforts. We thought this bed would be great for her older bones. She is a blue healer that weighs about 49 pounds. We always have to tell her to get on the bed at night because she just wants to sleep on the floor. But I notice she gets up on the bed herself in the middle of the night when it is colder. She has a very thick coat, and I think once the weather changes to colder nights, she will welcome this cozy bed.
I don't think the pillow part is really necessary - as she does not use it.

My dog was exhibiting systems of arthritis in his rear hip. I ordered the bed to comfort the stiffness he was feeling after sleeping all night. I just recently discovered at his annual checkup he has a severe case of hip dysplasia so I am so glad I ordered this bed. My dog loves the bed. Like most of the people that purchased this bed, I have an older lab mix that was showing a lot of signs of stiffness, even limping even though I give her glucosamine supplements. I did a lot of research before buying this bed and am glad I did. At first, Marley wasn't sure about the bed and grudgingly slept curled up on it but wouldn't stretch out. That was because of the size of the pillow so that is the only slightly negative thing I can say about it. But the positive was that after removing the pillow (great design) she sleeps on it all the time now. Her limping has gone away and the stiffness is better. This bed is worth every penny. It is made-to-order from material that clearly isn't going to compress any time soon--it's perfect for your older dog that is beginning to show signs of stiffness and age. My dog Barney climbed up on it the second I took it out of the box and promptly took a nap. I also ordered this bed because it has a headrest--Barney likes pillows, so he likes that he has his own pillow, in a sense. I just ordered another one without the headrest for my female dog Betty (she's not a pillow lover)--I wanted to see if they liked the first one before ordering a second--Betty and Barney "fight" over who gets this bed at night--even the cats sneak naps on it during the day. Our girl Laura has hip problems and actually had her own couch in our bedroom until we moved. This is her replacement and she loves it. The only issue is that it may be too warm for her occasionally with the fleece cover.

It took a while for our golden to sleep on this bed (we don't allow her on the furniture and I think she thought it couldn't possible be for her). But now that she has gotten use to it, she seems to really like this bed and hopefully it will keep her joints feeling good. For the price this seems to be a great bed!

The mattress itself is very thick and comfortable. The pillow cushion that came with it is detachable. It was a bit too firm for our Dachshund, so we were able to replace it with a softer combination of polyester-filled cushion and egg-crate shaped sponge. Our Doxies love it and sleep on it every night.

my eight year old boxer loves this bed. it is extremely comfortable but firm enough for his arthritic joints. a side handle would make it easier to move. would definitely purchase another.

So our son is 140 pounds of love. He's turning 6 in October and we thought it was important to invest in a high quality bed that would be easier on his joints. Wow, did we find the perfect bed. Shortly before we received his bed in the mail, my husband and I purchased a memory foam bed for ourselves. When Maximus' bed arrived we felt cheated. His bed is thick and comfortable. He loves it! He jumps on and off it when he's excited. He lays on it when he's tired. It's perfect for him. We are now looking for a new memory foam bed to compete with our son's.

My dog has arthritis in her hips and back legs. Her old standard bed was lumpy and too thin, even when we piled two together. This new orthopedic bed is so great! It is thick, takes up very little room, look great, and my dog sleeps so much better now. It's obvious she's very happy with her new bed.

We purchased this bed when our dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Since purchasing it, he has more energy and is walking better (even comes up the stairs better). Can't find anything bad to say about this product.Chatty Cathy

My 9 year old black lab loves his bed. He has always loved a pillow under his head, so when I was shopping for a bed like this for him, that was a great selling point. Because he is getting older, I wanted a supportive bed that got him up from the floor. This bed has absolutely fulfilled all of my expectations.

I wish the cover was easier to remove and replace for washing. We tend to just vacuum it a lot, but I wish it was easier to wash.

This dog bed is a permanent piece of furniture in my livingroom. I want my dog to feel she is family and has her own special bed. Her bed is more comfortable than mine! She is especially cute when she leans against the built in pillow while relaxing, or when she cleans the pillow as part of her daily maintenance. She loves it!

This bed is fantastic comfort and support and big enough to fit my two great danes. However the seam ripped open pretty easily where the head rest begins. Easy fix, I cover it with a queen fitted sheet that protects the rip from getting worse and comes off for easy washing.

Our 7 year old dog has the start of arthritis and we wanted to make sure that he had a comfortable place to sleep. He absolutely loves this bed and always uses the pillow. The cover does sometimes make it difficult to clean up dog hair.

I researched the Internet for a thicker orthopedic dog bed for my middle aged Yellow Lab who recently had ACL surgery. This bed is a little higher than her other one, but the mattress comfort is more supportive on her joints and this bed is better quality and durable. She LOVES it. I have to admit that I could even sleep comfortably on it. Well worth the investment.

Product is superior to anything I have seen or found at any pet store or other website. I am impressed that the bed is produced by a small company. Also, the product is made to order and manufactured in the USA. Very reasonably priced when you compare quality to what else is available.

Be aware of the difference in the actual color of the fabric versus the sample on the website.
