Got an active dog? Get a dog runner!

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 | Printer Friendly Printer Friendly

A good friend of Oh My Dog Supplies, Rebecca Davis, has been running a company in Philadelphia which we think is an excellent idea.  Big dogs need exercise, and unless you take him jogging or for daily dog park visits, he's probably not getting nearly enough.

Rebecca's company is called Run Philly Dog Run, and they work your dog out hard on a 3-4 mile run.  It's 10 times better than getting a dog walker.  If you live in Philly, check out her website at www.runphillydogrun.com - or if you don't live in Philly, try to find a local running service.  It's awesome, your dog will love it.

Below is an excerpt from an article about Run Philly Dog Run which appeared in Philadelphia Maven Magazine.

He can’t eat.  He can’t sleep.  He drives everyone crazy by bouncing around the room in anticipation.  He keeps checking the window anxiously.  Is today the day?  Will she ever get here?  Finally, she appears…a vision in workout clothes and running shoes.  Off they go for an hour-long run along Penn’s Landing.

To numerous dogs throughout the city, Rebecca Davis is an angel. (It doesn't hurt that she keeps plenty of Milkbones in her pocket.) As the owner of Run Philly Dog Run, Davis prides herself on keeping dogs “physically and psychologically fit.”  This is no regular dog-walking service to the local dog park, however.  Davis, along with a team of animal-loving runners, gives her canine clients a full-on cardio workout.
